@partial said, however, I would also like to urge you to start small to help grasp different concepts and techniques.
Personally, I started by learning to make a wooden bucket and moved up from there, after a few months I was making watercrafts from scratch and had created some simple animations. Point is: you need to practice frequently to get the hang of any software, particularly where 3D modelling is concerned as it can get very complex, especially if you intend on modelling organic objects like humans or animals in the future.
