While this forum isn't the best place to ask about Metaseq, I've used it in the past and had a pretty good handle on it. I'm a little rusty with it atm but I'm sure I could pick it back up pretty quickly. What helped me immensely is watching other people model in real time (or in time lapse, but real time is easier to take tips from).

If you go to Youtube and search 'metaseq modeling' you're bound to find really helpful results. Deviantart is good as well!

Ooh, it's quite exciting to see more people interested in 3D modelling here! I've personally never used Metaseq, but I'm somewhat proficient in Maya and I pretty much just want to second what @partial said, however, I would also like to urge you to start small to help grasp different concepts and techniques.

Personally, I started by learning to make a wooden bucket and moved up from there, after a few months I was making watercrafts from scratch and had created some simple animations. Point is: you need to practice frequently to get the hang of any software, particularly where 3D modelling is concerned as it can get very complex, especially if you intend on modelling organic objects like humans or animals in the future.

Sorry if this was a bit rambly, I'm just very passionate about 3D modelling and animation, but if you have any particular questions I'll happily answer them

I would recommend Blender or Xismo instead. Xismo has a similar workflow to Metaseq and supports most PMX features. On the other hand, there is an addon called blender_mmd_tools that lets you ditch PMXE completely. Use powroupi's development fork. It's still being maintained.
