How do you record power pitches without the mic making scratching sound?

Hello. I'm trying to record the high pitch for my utau and I'm trying to do it without going into falsetto. I can't though because my snowball keeps making a scratching sound when I do this. Is there anyway to prevent the scratching sound?

I think the 3rd setting on the Snowball is pretty good for power recording, but try the second setting. Don't record so close to the mic, the scratching sound is probably clipping.
