So I thought I'd shed some light on this project I've been working, technically for a few years. If anybody knows me at all, all of five people maybe, you might have heard that I've been attempting my own bootleg English list. Originally intended to be 100% VCV. Now that I know for sure that it is probably impossible due to oto limit, I've decided to shorten it down to a the sweet sweet l0vechild between a vcv list and cvvc. Which is not really a new idea, and has been done before at least twice. Very well too! But I thought I'd give it a shot anyway. I finally got something to show and talk about.
A few people have been kind enough to record some samples from my list to form the intro to silence.
Compared to the original idea I had, it sounds just as good if not even better.
There are 19 vowels that are used with both vcv and vc (inbetweens) notes. But there are extra vowels used only with vc notes such as "eye", "ay", and two pronunciations of "ow". Below you can see the vowel strings.
You may be able to recognize most of them.
Sadly, this list will be too big for a proper multipitch. But that doesn't make it impossible. If you wanted it that badly, you could simply record your intended pitches and oto them as separate banks. Then you could pick out whatever samples you need for a song you want to use multipitch with and add them to a new folder... So yeah, this is huge. It's a lot of work, but I will do it. It'll take me a while, but I'll get it done eventually. Wish me luck. o_o;;;
I'm still up to let people test it out by recording lines for a song. Especially for different accents. But I will be careful who I pick. Otherwise, if you have any questions so far I am happy to answer them.
