sounds great!! like. if you really want critique the only thing i can think of is the microphone quality for the utau itself but other than that?? it's really good!!
thanks, yeah i should buy a new mic im using a mic my friend bought from wish for 4 dollars. :D
But i dont know what mic to buy any recommendation
oof, yeah, microphones for under $20 usually won't get you very high results...
it depends on your budget tho! if you're doing this mainly for the hobby, tbh, a rock band mic would work just fine! i used it for a while when i was starting out and my vbs sounded ok (aside from my vocal tone b/c my recording voice was a lot poorer back then)
if you're willing to REALLY shell out, you should look into getting an audio interface & a microphone to go with it, but that can get you over $200 sometimes so imo you should only do that if you're pursuing recording/audio production as a major thing in your life
when you look at microphones the best things to check is for a wide frequency range (human hearing is 20Hz - 20kHz), as little noise as possible, no filtering of the signal (like if the microphone automatically compresses volume like some gaming mics do), and the type of mic best for your voice. softer voices do better with condenser microphones, more powerful voices do better with dynamics. im guessing your voice type would do better with a dynamic mic
that came out super long but like oof microphones take a while to explain @_@ tl;dr if you're doing this for a hobby just look for a well-reviewed usb mic in your budget for like. podcasts or general voice recording maybe?
okey thanks for the advise :D But yhea utau is more of a hobby that i do when im not working.
My opinion is that, for hobby work, a decent USB mic will do. You're likely to find them in computer stores. If you prefer to shop online, then you can try to find the best value for a USB mic (best quality with a reasonable price). I'll have to get back on you though, since my microphone friend is currently re-evaluating the market.
im thinking of buying a blue snowball usb mic after looking at some reviewes online :D
blue snowball is p good, that's a good option
I had the snowball and it's not too great compared to newer options, it's very noisy and after opening one up you can kinda see why it sounds like the way it does. You sort of pay more for the brand and the looks rather than sound quality.
I recently tried out a bunch of usb mics to try to find the best entry-level usb mic for UTAU users and so far the Marantz MPM2000U is the best I can find.
I know it says it's almost $100 but the other sellers have it for the correct price (slightly cheaper than the snowball)
Edit: almost forgot to say. If you can't afford the 2000U, the 1000U is also a very nice affordable mic that I'd put between the snowball and 2000u in quality.
Thanks for jumping in! This is the information I was looking for. It looks like clicking on the tiny link under the description will bring up the seller list, so this microphone is more like $60 at the moment.
okay, thnks for the advise :D This mic thing is alot harder than i thought lol :D
