Reaper for midi creation help?

I've been trying to use Reaper for a while now, and I just can't figure out how to play midis on it. I've been trying to create my own midi, but no sound comes out whenever I try to play the midi piano thing. (I downloaded a midi board called vmpk, it's very good. It works in programs like garageband, but not Reaper.) I've downloaded many VST's to try to get it to be able to play midis I'm trying to create, but it still doesn't work. Maybe because VST isn't really for mac, but... I'm not sure what to do.

I had this problem too, then I figured it out!
Go the the FX, and use ReaSynth(cockos)
It should play sound after that.

I use Music Studio Producer I haven't use it to make midis but it's great to use if you want to delete tacks to where only the main track (for vocal) you want to use it to make usts.  I read on the site you can make your own midis out of it.
