One thing that bothers me though is how his name is written in japanese...
Shouldn't it be アイオン because it's a name, not a word? o:

His name can be spelled 5 different ways. Aion, Ion, あいおん, アイオン, and 愛音. The "official" spellings are Ion and あいおん though.

It's a play on words.
