What does your Utau's name mean?

my UTAU is still WIP but Nonon means "warm sound" (just with the "warm" kanji spelled differently) and "Hiiko" is a reversed spelling of "koohii" (coffee, since she's coffee-themed?)

Oh my, where do I begin? Bunta Daichi was originally named Buru Hato, a *very* butchered way of saying "Blue Heart" in Japanese. I chose this because he was supposed to be a very emotional UTAU and he had a LOT of blue in his design. I scaled it down a notch and gave him a better name. I don't think Bunta Daichi means anything.
SO A YEAR LATER I FOUND OUT THAT BUNTA DAICHI IS THE CLOVER KING AND ALSO CAN MEAN GREAT DESIGN LMFAOOO

I hope a month isnt too old for a thread to be bumped again?
I actually got Lycoris through a random name generator, but I knew of the name beforehand and really liked it. Since it means "twilight:, picking grey as a last name just made sense to me. The name also inspired me to name all their voicebanks after phases of the moon.

Alta is named after the Altamaha river in Georgia-she is inspired by a cryptid that is said to live there.

I have a WIP UTAU named Omichron (used to be a placeholder but the name grew on me). I just wanted something in greek, since many scientific projects/robots are given names like that. It can also be shortened to Omi which is really cute.

My UTAUs are named whatever I pull out of the hat that is my brain. Which is why all of the names are in katakana lol

CUSL-02: MAXwell(マクスウェル) it's just Maxwell.
CUSL-03: Songbird(鳴き鳥) Because he's a bird..?
MAGi(マギ) just Maggie spelled and pronounced weirdly.
Chrysallis(クリサリス) a manipulated version of Chrysalis.
Mokuka(モクカ) no translation
Kizuku Moji(築く文字) Japanese for Building Character.
Kizuku Moja(築くもハ) Supposed to be Moji's Name but with an "a" at the end, but according to DeepL, it's "kanji 'building' radicals"

My WIP UTAU is named Arachne, after the Greek myth.

Here's the myth (CW: Light mention of suicide):
Arachne was a weaver who challenged Athena to a weaving contest. Arachne wove faster than Athena and created a better tapestry, but Athena was outraged that a mortal dared to challenge and beat her at one of her realms of incluence. Athena lashed out and destroyed Arachne's tapestry, and Arachne hung herself in her shame. Athena, perhaps feeling bad for her, turned her into a spider so that she could weave for the rest of her days, all day, every day.

So, to call back to the myth, Arachne has a spider/spider web motif, designs her own clothes, and has a weird thing for tapestries.

Eve (Ivu) Hetsu - Eve, one of my aliases
MOKUSEI - IIRC it means Jupiter, another alias of mine
Cal (Caru) Tokeine - Cal is the shortened name of a sort of group I'm in. Tokei means clock, sort of referencing clocks, clockwork, etc. being frequently mentioned in my favorite Vocaloid song series, the Evillious Chronicles. Ne means sound, referencing the way a ton of popular Vocaloids have that at the end of their surnames (well, that and the usual sound-music-'loid-stuff)

Kyung means: Honor, respect.
I gave this name to my UTAUloid because of his more soft voice. But if you annoy him too much. He will snap.

one of my friend and i's bank's name's is otoko shi (音子四), and it's a play on multiple japanese words:

- otoko is short for otokonoko, meaning "boy" and/or "child". he is both a boy(!?) and a child (at heart)

- "oto" on it's own means sound, and "ko" is a common suffix in japanese names to make them feminine (like how there's "ina" in english). this was chosen because he's feminine in appearance

- he was originally going to be named otoko "shinpu" (シンプ), as that's a way of saying "simp" in japanese. we changed it because we thought it was a little on the nose, but we kept "shi" as a memento

- "shi" also means death, which was chosen due to his sleep-deprived nature
