My utau sounds...muffled...

So, I've been testing my otos of Renaka Unupi's third act, and when I was comparing her core pitch to her stern (basically a power switch except it's a bit less powerful) addend, and her addend sounds..muffled compared to her core for some reason.
Here's a sample. Core comes first.
Is there a reason why this happens? Is there a way I could fix that?

Did you use noise removal on your samples for the core and not for the new one? Not sure but it's the only idea I have xD

That would definitely be right if I knew how to use noise removal correctly XD.

I'm not sure why that happens, but it seems to be fairly normal.
It could be the resampler. If you're using the default one, try switching to fresamp, Moresampler, or maybe TIPS. Sometimes, the microphone causes that. I think it has something to do with cutting out/not recording certain frequencies? I've heard that about the Blue Snowball, at least. The last suggestion would be to raise the volume of the samples, but that might not do too much.
Muffled voices can also be fixed with EQ and compression when you're mixing. I don't know much about that, though ^^; sorry, and good luck!

I SUPER agree with the mixing part! Plugins for DAWs like the Soungooderizer and WA SHOCK both seem to make vocals much less muffled! (please look at @Kiyoteru ’s post for EQ, it’s way more informative and accurate!)

The microphone option makes a lot of sense at least to me, as my mic is named for some reason, "Condenser Microphone SF-666". Maybe that's what they meant by 'condenser', but I'm not sure. Using Moresampler seems to have helped it out a bit (TIPS made it sound like Renaka stubbed her toe XD) and the mixing seems to have made it even better. I may have to change DAWs though, as I'm not sure if Audacity supports all of this helpful stuff trinkhk mentioned. Thank you!

Soundgoodizer and You Wa Shock are both simply multiband compressors with preset settings and no control over how to customize them. Multiband compressors are something like a combination of compression and EQ, where you can set different frequency ranges to be compressed in different ways. In terms of tonal clarity, it's EQ that you need to adjust, to make different frequencies louder and quieter. In terms of balancing the volume of the music and the vocals, compression is the tool you can use. But since UTAU already normalizes audio per-note, you usually don't need to use compression at all. If anything, you'd have to add variation back into the vocal for it to sound expressive and properly match loud and quiet parts of songs.
