Anyone have any idea how to Oto inahales/exhales/breaths?

Hi!

Sorry if this post is a complete mess, but I'm currently oto'ing a personal voicebank and I want to include the sound of inhales/exhales (or basically breath in general) as a separate recording, and I wonder if it's possible to Oto them so they sound good? I haven't tried it yet since I don't have time currently, but I'd like to try it soon and I might as well need to know things first.

overlap 10, preutterance 15, consonant to the end of the inhale/exhale and make sure the gap between consonant and offset is silent

by the way just a tip, use Note properties>Others>$direct=true for breaths

@Kiyoteru That's why you need to use $direct=true, cannot stretch that way, resamplers don't render them through so using it is a faster way giving the same result

It's more difficult to time breaths and to control the volume when using them in the context of a UST. Using them while mixing is vastly more convenient. However, this only applies to standalone breaths.
For end breaths, you'd OTO them much like a VC (overlap covers a stable part of the vowel, preutt at the beginning of the breath, consonant covers the entire breath, silence in the white space). These can be used within UTAU without much issue, just beware of the normalization, which could make them a bit too loud.
