All the weird questions about the server maintenance...(what is english) have now been answered - V5 is officially here!

Yamaha released a trailer of some sorts, and a walkthrough video for it!

So far there is no standalone Editor available, and for Mac, there is only Vocaloid 4.5 for Cubase.

V5 comes in two packages:
Standard edition for 25,000¥ coming with V5, and 4 Vocals, masculine and feminine in english and japanese.

There also is the premium edition available for 40,000¥ which comes with the new 4 Vocals Ken, Kaori, Chris and Amy, alongside with the 4 VYs!

To correct your information, V5 stand-alone editor works in both Win and Mac. Vocaloid 4.5 editor for Cubase works in both operating systems as long as you have Cubase.

(BTW I think that I fallen in love to these new Engloids and Ken)

I think the new additions to the software are excellent. I just have a few questions about cross synth and what voicebanks the VYs have. I think I might email Yamaha and ask about it.

Even though it’s 250 for the standard edition, it is a pretty good value. I mean four voicebanks plus the editor would have been maybe 500 with the V4 price.(I mainly don’t know if I’d use the default banks.) I think I’ll wait to see what other V5 banks show up and what PiaPro V5X looks like before I purchase V5.

Unfortunately, Cross synthesis is no longer a thing in V5. It doesn’t exit in V5

Has anyone seen any direct comparisons between the V4 & V5 engine? By that I mean playing the same VSQX using the same voicebank in both editors.

Thanks! I was hoping for ENG but I think this is good enough.

I hear slightly more growl on the opening phoneme in the V5 version, other than that they sound identical to me.

Well, I ended up getting Premium......yeah. I love all the vbs, but the presets are kinda driving me nuts. I wanted to use some of the reset quotes from Chris as an inspiration for my own song, but while the preset lyrics have Chris sounding like a realistic masculine singer, when I place my own notes next to them, it sound like a completely different VB, so instead of Chris sounding like a realistic masculine singer as he does in the preset lyrics, he sounds like a prepubescent boy, and the two don't mix well, so you can hear the difference.

I know there's filters on the voice, but if we at least knew what the filters were I would be able to continue with a song. And btw, I copy/pasted the note and changed the lyric, and for some reason it still erases the filter, so the filter only works with those words on those notes and if you edit them, rip. If anyone can help out with this, well it's appreciated.
