Install Windows UTAU on Mac - Resamplers! Plugins! No more monthly codes!

Hello Mac users! It's true that we have our own version of UTAU, but it's missing some of Windows users' favorite features: resamplers and plugins. Sometimes UTAU-Synth simply refuses to accept the license code for the month. The solution is to install the Windows version of UTAU through Wine!

This method will use a wineskin wrapper. If you know how to run Wine through the command line, you probably don't need this tutorial.

Here are the download links you need.

Bumping because UTAU-Synth doesn't seem to be working with the new code this month

I'm new to UTAU. I've been trying to install it on my Mac using this method, but whenever I try to choose the UTAU software, this message pops up:

Does anybody know why?

Command click on the UTAU.app file and choose Show Package Contents. Go to the drive_c folder and check if there's anything new in Program Files. If there is something, then the installation is fine, and you'll just have to manually set the EXE in the Wineskin advanced settings. If there isn't anything, then try installing again and double check that you're selecting the correct installer file and selecting the correct options during the installation process.

There wasn't anything new in the drive_c folder. I'm not very tech savvy, but I've tried uninstalling and installing again four times, and it still doesn't work. I've also tried to install the UTAU-synth English version, but the password doesn't load.

I assume that you mean the monthly license code by "password".

To bypass that license code thing on UTAU-Synth, you'll need Dante's .nib file. You can download that from here: https://dantedesigns.net/nib.html

With this thing, you can use UTAU-Synth without the license code thing - or "password". Installing guide of that nib can be found from same website

I'm using macOS Sierra, so if you're using anything newer than that, you may be encountering issues that I cannot help you with.

I'm struggling to get the program into English. I can get this far (going to T and then O), but I don't get a dropdown menu from here to select anything. Am I doing something wrong?Screen Shot 2019-03-16 at 11.32.00 PM.png

Which version of UTAU did you install? You should be using 0.4.18e.

This is what it's meant to look like, so I'm not sure why yours is different.

howdy!

i'm basically brand new to UTAU. i did mess around with UTAU on an old Windows Vista machine, but i want to use my macbook since it's newer and much much faster. i've followed your guide exactly and i cannot get UTAU to open at all. as far as i know it installed alright, but test running and trying to open it via the wineskin wrapper produces nothing. any help would be much appreciated. :')

edit with a bit more info: i have uninstalled and reinstalled the wrapper and even used the one shown in the guide screenshots, but all of my basic troubleshooting has failed. my mac is running Mojave 10.14.4 if that helps
